The second barrel in our esteemed Major Beaver series, Airman Hog is a seroius gem. One of the "lower" proof barrels (if you can believe it) of this colossal run, coming in at a measely 143.3 proof, this is a tremendously short barrel only producing 76 bottles! We've talked before about the magic of certain short barrels, and this one does not disappoint. Dark as night, with a nose out of hell, Airman Hog is just a stoopid bourbon. You would NEVER guess the proof upon the first sip. Go ahead and test your friends, pour this and don't tell them the proof, and then show them the bottle. We bet they'll think it's something in the 120-130 range, and they'll never believe that it's in hazmat territory.

It's rich and super oaky, without going bitter, and has the most deep, spicy, herbal incredible nose. Deep "kaolin clay," round sweet rich oak, massive chocolate, nougat, vanilla, cherries. The mouthfeel is a wild oily coating of the toungue in char, sweets, spice, and overripe fruits. The finish is seriously to die for, amazingly not hot, just rich, sweet, oaky, spicy, licorice and root beer, saddle leather, pipe tobacco, ketchup, dark chocolate.

This is going to be one of those legendary bottles, we can just feel like, the only problem is that we didn't get more of it!!
