Beast Masters Club recently held a secret event for The Society of Crossed Keys, a clandestine international association of post-war agents specializing in five star hospitality. With our special guest whiskey expert Zero Moustafa, we convened a closed-door barrel picking session high in the snowy mountains of the Republic of Zubrowka.

The members of SOCK are famous for their deep connections into European spy rings, immaculate hospital corners, and deep knowledge and respect for Kentucky bourbon. We sampled six different casks of Heaven Hill bourbon ranging from 8-12 years. We had the option to purchase the 12 year barrel, but without hesitation, the unanimous decision was that this 8-year expression absolutely crushed. It was rich and nutty with chocolate, honey, serious oak for a relatively young beast, and a nice oily body that brought everything together.
