Well hot damn did someone say bourbon season is back??

This year's Elijah Craig run is here and it's singing a sweet tune! We tasted a bunch of barrels and ended up with three beauties!

Introducing the first in our "Three Tenors" series - Hogzé Carreras! This is a really awesome barrel. It's packed with flavor and really impressed us. The nose is awesome spice - juicy meat barbecue, those most juicy of bits where the outside of the fat starts to sizzle. Big vanilla, tons of baking spice - nutmeg and brown sugar and cinnamon, and at the end a hint of chile. The mouthfeel is there - nice and big with those spices coming through. The finish fits in right where you want it. Mellow with no spirit burn, but a ton of richness moving between those bakery notes and the spices and the bbq stuff.

This is a perfect bottle to sip while you fire up the grill, or cook a nice roast in the oven. It's super approachable, yet very rich and flavorful. And a 9-year Heaven Hill single barrel, always on our short list! Get one before they're gone, our EC picks never last.
