Smooth Ambler Old Scout is back!! Some of our very best barrels ever were done under the SAOS label, and we're super stoked that the program has returned.

Harvey "Stache-Man" Handlebar sure does dig his Nose Candy! In this case he's sniffing a delicious high-rye MGP bourbon! Distilled in 2014, served up just how we like it at cask strength and non-chillfiltered, this is our kind of beast!

This sure is a punchy little beast, packing in a whole lot of flavor. The candy punch comes right out of the nose with a flood of Sweet Tarts / Airheads, super sweet sour tangy candy madness. Let it fan out in the air for a few minutes and we get into more creamy notes. Orange creamsicles, kind of like the iced custard you get down in Philly with orange ices and vanilla cream. There's definitely some spice happening too, little bites of mint and pepper, some chile stuff going on poblano bbq.

The palate is like OK, this is 120 proof bourbon all right! Not hiding from the proof here it's vocal, spicy, sweet, punchy, punchy, punchy. We want to don a tropical shirt, buy a gaudy complex in Miami Beach, and fill a table with nose candy.

The finish is long. The candy fades and we get leather polish and some wood. Long warm solid finish. Smooth Ambler never really disappoints, but a cask strength MGP high-rye for under $50, damn thtis one works for us.
