We were so lucky to get three barrels of WhistlePig's 16 year single cask rye this year! It was so good, we gave it the Beast Masters' coveted "Bee's Knees" award.

This is the final cask in the series. Yes it says 10 Years Old on the bottle, but we have confirmed that this bad bee was distilled in June of 2004. It's actual 16 years, 7 months old! What does this mean for you? Well it means you're getting almost seventeen year rye for a total steal.

From WhistlePig's stash of Alberta rye barrels that have been aging at the farm in Vermont, Barrel #103364 might be our favorite of all three Bee's Knees 2021 run. It's not super sweet like #2, but it's immediately rich rich rich. The nose gives you deep herbal stuff, chamomile tea leaves, balsamic, lilies and wild flowers. There's wonderful wood char going on. Vanilla beans, some exotic spices like red thai chiles, and a sweet flavorful end with root beer and cola. The palate keeps building on the root beer, but goes a little creamier, like Dr Brown's Cream Soda. The finish goes into that lovely charred oak / vanilla flavor that we love so much in a nice rye.

What an awesome conclusion to an incredible trio of barrels. Whether you've got you phone buzzing at 1:45 reminding you to complete the whole set, of if this is your first chance to taste it, you're in for a treat!
